Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort

A large-scale, French-colonial-styled resort on Klong Muang Beach, built around one of the region's few resort golf courses and one of Southeast Asia's larger free-form pools.

Setting

Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra sits on Klong Muang Beach, between the shoreline and the forested slopes of Naga Mountain — the same quiet headland as Dusit Thani and Banyan Tree, roughly 40 minutes by road from Krabi Airport and around 15 minutes from Ao Nang.

Rooms

276 rooms and suites, decorated in a colonial-Thai style with teak flooring, are set across low-rise buildings with sea, pool or garden-view balconies. It's one of the larger resorts in the Klong Muang/Tubkaek cluster, which shows in the scale of its shared facilities.

The golf course

A 9-hole, par-28 course winds from the beachside up through the property's hillside — genuinely unusual for a Krabi resort, and the reason many golf-focused travellers choose this property specifically over its neighbours.

Facilities and dining

Four restaurants cover Thai, Italian and international menus. Beyond the golf course, the resort runs a large free-form pool with a waterslide and swim-up bar, a spa, and a fitness centre — enough scale that it functions well as a self-contained family base.

Who it suits

Families and golf-focused travellers wanting a big, full-facility resort rather than an intimate boutique stay. For a smaller, more private alternative on the same stretch of coast, see Banyan Tree Krabi.
