Setting
Pimalai occupies its own bay — Kantiang Bay — on the southwest coast of Koh Lanta Yai, well away from the island's more developed Long Beach strip further north. The resort effectively owns most of the bay, so the 900-metre beach stays quiet even at full occupancy, with rooms and villas built into the hillside rainforest behind it.
Getting there
This is a Koh Lanta resort, not a Krabi mainland one — reaching it means following our Krabi to Koh Lanta route (ferry or minivan, roughly 2–2.5 hours), or the resort's own transfer options from Krabi Airport, then a further drive to the island's southern tip.
What sets it apart
Genuine seclusion is the whole point here — there's little beyond a few restaurants and a 7-Eleven within a 15-minute walk. Guests who want an active nightlife scene should look at Ao Nang or central Krabi instead; guests wanting to properly disconnect tend to love it.
