Railay Beach
The boat-only, cliff-ringed peninsula that put Krabi on the world map.
Read the guide →Krabi packs beaches, jungle temples, island tours and street food into a surprisingly small stretch of coastline. Here's everything worth your time, organised so you can actually build an itinerary from it.
Each guide below covers opening hours, realistic costs, how to get there without a tour desk mark-up, and when to go to avoid the tour-bus crowds.

Read the guide →Most first-time visitors try to cram Railay, the 4 Island Tour, Tiger Cave Temple and Emerald Pool into two or three days — and it works, if you sequence it sensibly. As a rough rule: do the boat trips (Railay, the 4 Island Tour, Hong Islands) on calm-weather days, save the temple climb for an early morning before the heat sets in, and treat the hot springs and Emerald Pool as a relaxed half-day combined together, since they sit on the same road east of town.
Very little in Krabi needs to be booked weeks ahead. The exceptions are private longtail charters in high season (December–February) and any resort on Railay or a private island, which sell out over Christmas and New Year. Everything else — day tours, temple visits, the night market — can be arranged a day or two out through your hotel or any of the tour desks along Ao Nang's main strip.
